
The Social Science Program (SOS) at Mon National College (MNC) was established in 2022 and designed to provide students with a strong foundation in social sciences. The program will equip them with an understanding of the complex dynamics of society and culture in the context of globalization and the modern world. The program incorporates a range of disciplines, such as anthropology, sociology, political sciences, development studies, gender studies, and ethnicity. The diverse courses with conceptual and analytical tools will deepen the student’s understanding of the socio-economic, political, cultural, and environmental changes taking place in the region. The program also engages with emerging issues and social phenomena, including but not limited to resource management, migration, climate change, food security, and emerging diseases.
