Overview

The Mass Media and Journalism Department at Mon National College offers an Associate Degree program for Mon and other ethnic students, providing essential professional skills to prepare them for careers in media. The program equips students with foundational knowledge in journalism, scriptwriting, documentary production, feature writing, communication, and media management. Graduates are well-prepared for roles in media industries, marketing businesses, and both government and non-governmental organizations, with a particular focus on the expanding field of information and communication technology (ICT).

Although the program offers basic training in journalism, it also encourages students to enhance their skills by participating in media work or continuing their education. They can bridge their associate degree to a bachelor’s program in communication arts, journalism, mass media, or communication in business at other universities or institutions.
